Home made oat milk

I have stopped drinking cow's milk for nearly 6 months now as per advice from my doctor, during that time I have tried number of different milks; soya, almond, coconut, hemp and cashew nut but none of them  tasted really good in tea, then I came across oat milk, which is lovely.  However the special offer in M&S has finished last week and the milk costs around £1.40 per litre. I think this is a lot, so I started to experiment with making it myself.
I bought a small bag of oats at Lidl for 39p per 500g, so cheap.

1 cup of oats

Add 5cups of water, can be tap water.

I used a hand blender to further breakdown the oats before leaving it to soak

The mixture was left for 3 hours, but it can be laft overnight.
You can add some dates (without stones of course) or some kind of sweetener if .you want before you mix it in a mixer.

And here it is!!!

Looking forward to breakfast tomorrow!
